Friends of Holmes Run is a non-partisan, all-volunteer 501(c)3 organization that supports active stewardship of existing resources and a better balance between the economic and environmental considerations of land use decisions affecting the watershed.
FOHR volunteers seek to protect and restore the Holmes Run watershed through strategic actions, public education, and advocacy.
No government, business, or civic group has enough resources to significantly reverse years of stream and habitat degradation on its own. Strategic collaborations toward targeted goals are essential.
Most citizens and property owners want to do right by the environment, but are more likely to do so if it entails reasonable, achievable steps.
Our members live, work and/or study the watershed, and see its challenges first hand. We speak from experience at public hearings and to elected officials.
